Binagoongang Bangus

This is a new recipe that I saw from my Instagram reels. Here's my take on the recipe.

Here's what you need:
Bangus (Milk fish) - for this recipe, I used one whole fish. If the whole fish is not available, just use any part of the Bangus that you can buy ( Example: frozen bangus belly)

Kalamansi- (Lemon or Lime is fine too.) for kalamansi, use 2-3 pieces.

Pepper and Magic Sarap (1 small packet only or if you have a big one, use 2-3 tbsp. this will be use to marinate the fish)

maggi or knorr liquid seasoning- about 3-5 tsp. This is only to marinate the fish.)

Bagoong( Shrimp paste) about 5-6 tsp

tomatoes- for this recipe, I used 4.

onions- for this recipe, I used one whole
 garlic- 5-6 cloves

water- 2-3 cups

Vegetable of your choice. This is optional. I like veggies so for this recipe, I used green beans.

Procedure
1. Fry the fish first. Just about until it turns brown. Set aside. Remove any excess oil from the pan.
2.  On the same pan, ( turn it on medium heat only) Sauté onions, garlic and tomatoes. Sauté them until the tomatoes turn soft.
3. put shrimp paste. For this time, just use 2 tbsp first. mixed well with the onion, garlic and tomatoes. let it simmer for about a minute. Then put the beans in. put a little water so the green beans will soften.
4. Once the beans have soften, put in another 2 tbsp of shrimp paste. put in a little water. mix well and let it simmer about 3 mins more.
5. Put in your fried bangus this  time. coat the fish with your bagoong (shrimp paste) sauce you made.
* if you like a little more sauce, just add a little water and let it simmer for 5 mins. The tomatoes tend to make the sauce creamier so if you can add little amounts of water and make sure to simmer well so the shrimp paste will mix well and the flavor will coat the whole sauce.
* We don't need to use any more seasonings since the shrimp paste has enough flavor. 😊😁
